Preparation you can't see, finish you can
What it is
A paint job is mostly preparation. Filling, sanding, priming, caulking and masking are what separate a finish that still looks sharp in eight years from one that's peeling off a windowsill in two. The colour coat is the quick part and the part everyone sees, but it is not the part that determines how long it lasts.
We paint interiors and exteriors, whole houses and single rooms, occupied homes and empty ones. On an occupied house the job is as much about protecting your floors and furniture and leaving the place liveable each evening as it is about the walls.
Why it's worth it
Filling, sanding, caulking and priming carried out fully before any colour — this is where a paint job is won or lost.
Trade-grade paint systems selected for the specific substrate and exposure rather than whatever is cheapest per litre.
The right primer for each substrate — new render, bare timber, previously painted, or a problem surface with staining.
Floors and fittings covered, edges masked, and the site cleaned down at the end of every day.

Our process
We walk the property with you, note the substrates and problem areas, agree the scope, and give you a written quote setting out what's included.
Furniture and floors are covered and hardware removed. Surfaces are washed, scraped, filled, sanded and caulked as the substrate needs.
Repairs, bare substrate and stains are spot-primed or fully undercoated so the colour coats go on over a consistent base.
Two finish coats as standard, then we walk the job with you in daylight, mark up anything that needs attention, and fix it before we call it done.

Good to know
A full interior on a typical three or four bedroom home usually runs about one to two weeks; a full exterior is similar, and more weather-dependent. Preparation is the variable — a house that needs a lot of filling and sanding takes considerably longer than one that doesn't.
