What it is
Axon is a vertical-groove fibre-cement cladding — a James Hardie panel with a crisp, evenly-spaced channel running floor to ceiling. Those vertical lines draw the eye up and give a facade a clean, deliberate, contemporary read that a flat wall or a horizontal board simply doesn't have.
It's one of the most-specified cladding looks on new Adelaide homes, and it works hard as a feature — a portico, an upper storey or an entry element clad in Axon against a rendered wall breaks up the elevation and gives it depth. The panel is the easy part; the wrap, battens, flashings and the set-out of those grooves so they line up across the wall are what make it look right and keep water out.

Our process
We confirm the Axon profile and groove spacing against the design, then set out the panels so joints line up with windows, corners and floor levels.
Wall wrap, cavity battens where the system requires them, and all flashings go on before any cladding — this is the part that keeps water out.
Panels are fixed at the manufacturer's specified centres and edge distances, with jointers and expansion allowances set correctly at the grooves.
Junctions with render, windows, corners and ground clearance are detailed and sealed, then the cladding gets its full exterior coating.
